The GMS Grading & Assessment Task Force, comprised of teachers, administrators, and instructional staff, created updated guidelines which ensure that all Gray Middle School grading and assessment practices will be used to support the learning process and to encourage the success of all students. These guidelines include, but are not limited to:
-
the reporting of student behaviors separate from academic grades;
-
the opportunity for all students to earn the right to reassess;
-
the replacement of group grades with individual grades;
-
structures to offer opportunities for students to complete missing work;
-
the elimination of extra credit; and,
-
a focus on summative assessment as the primary measure of student achievement.
